Alleged drugged driver faces charges in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Clarksburg man will face charges in Monongalia County for allegedly being intoxicated while driving.

According to the Morgantown Police Department, Zacharaiah Jones, 31, was under the influence of drugs when the delivery truck he was driving collided with a 2008 Kia Sorento on Friday, April 13, 2017 on Route 7 in Sabraton.

Jones was turning into a convenience store along Earl L. Core Road when police reported he hit the passenger car.
A woman in the Kia was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Morgantown police discovered prescription pain medication in the delivery truck according to Police Chief Ed Preston.

Jones also reportedly failed multiple sobriety tests.

He was charged with DUI causing injury and possession of a controlled substance.
