Local author arrested for passing bad checks

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. – A best-selling author from Lumberport has been arrested for passing fraudulent checks.

police reports say Kelly Ann Scyoc passed a fraudulent $1,500 check at the Fairmont Federal Credit Union Rose Bud branch, then another bad $1,500 check at the Fairmont Credit Union Charles point location on July 19. Both incidents were caught on surveillance.

She has been charged with two counts of fraudulent schemes.

Scyoc was charged with possession with intent to deliver May 2019. She was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver for a second time in June 2019.

Scyoc is an author who writes under the alias K.A. Robinson. She’s a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author.
