Detroit men sentenced for dug activity in Mon County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Raymond Edison, 32, of Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for drug-related crimes committed in Mon County and else where.

Last week, Edison pled guilty to one count of money laundering conspiracy where Edison worked with others to move money made from the distribution of heroin in order to operate the illegal enterprise from the Spring of 2017 to May 2018.

In a separate but connected case, Edison pled guilty to one count of distribution of oxycodone within 1,000 feet of protected location for selling oxycodone near Suncrest Middle School in October 2017.

In another case, Devante Maddox, 27, of Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced today to three years probation for oxycodone distribution.

U.S. Attorney Bill Powell says Maddox admitted to selling oxycodone in January 2017 in Monongalia County.

The Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force all participated in the investigation.
