Four vehicle crash reported on I-79 in Marion County

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Four people were injured in a seven-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Marion County Wednesday morning.

The wreck occurred at about 10:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Pleasant Valley Road exit. Two of the seven vehicles involved were tractor trailers.

Several rescue squads and fire crews were on the scene along with Marion County sheriff’s deputies and state police troopers.

It was raining at the time of the crash. The interstate reopened at just before noon.

There was no immediate word about the extent of injuries or the names of those involved.
