Man dead after police involved shooting in Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. — Police in Randolph County shot and killed a man they say pointed a shotgun at them.

The West Virginia State Police and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Elkins Police Department with the service of a search warrant on Ward Avenue in Elkins at approximately 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Inside the home two troopers fired on William Keith Waldron, 26, who is accused of aiming a gun at police.
Waldron was transported to Davis Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

There were no other injuries reported.
