New Federal Prosecutor Joins Northern District Team

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — New federal prosecutor Traci M. Cook took the oath of office Friday afternoon before U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Cook will join the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District and serve as the supervisor of the Clarksburg branch office.

“Traci is a seasoned litigator with a level of skill and dedication that will be a tremendous asset in
our efforts to combat drug trafficking and violent crime in Northern West Virginia,” U.S.
Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II said in a press release. “Her wealth of trial and supervisory experience will allow her to immediately contribute to the office and enhance law enforcement efforts in the region.”

Cook is a graduate of West Liberty State College. She graduated in 1996 from the West Virginia University College of Law.

Cook served in the past as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Harrison County for more than a decade. She has also served as Assistant Public Defender for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Clarksburg.
