Police searching for suspect and witness following Circle-K robbery

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — An armed robbery at a Dorsey Avenue convenience store is under investigation, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.

A man wearing a camouflage face mask is said to have signaled to the clerk at Circle-K that he had a weapon before asking the clerk to open the register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbery reportedly occurred around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The suspect is said to have run across the street to the area of Solomon’s Mobile Home Park. Police were unable to track the suspect upon arrival.

Before the robbery occurred, the suspect reportedly took his mask off while helping a woman in the Circle-K parking lot fix her vehicle. The woman said the suspect had no teeth and days-old beard growth.

A second person was assisting with the repairs, known only as “Tay.” Police are seeking information on how to contact Tay.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (304) 291-7260.
