Schmitt’s Saloon concert broadcast worldwide

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former WVU and NFL full back Owen Schmitt’s Morgantown business will be getting worldwide attention tonight.

“I’m so stoked! Ready to rock and roll tonight. It’s going to be a great event,” promised Schmitt.

Yahoo! & Live Nation will be broadcasting the Saving Abel concert live from Schmitt’s Saloon in Morgantown beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Live Nation claims itself as the global leader for live entertainment with more than 455 million fans in 33 countries. The live performance is one link away. screen.yahoo.com/live/event/saving-abel

“It was kind of a freak thing I guess. We kind of got picked out of a handful of venues somewhere ranging around 5,000 venues. That’s what I’m told anyways, which is a great honor.”

Schmitt’s Saloon was recently voted Best of Morgantown, Music Venue of 2015. Schmitt’s Saloon has been known to bring in nationally touring country artists like Ronnie Dunn, Craig Morgan, Tyler Farr, Jon Pardi, along with many others. But, the venue is expanding to include other genres like Saving Abel, Fuel, Salvia, and Eve 6. The Saloon will host Sebastian Bach of Skid Row on Wednesday, July 8.

The concert Wednesday marks Saving Abel’s third visit to the saloon and the first broadcast online from there.
“This live broadcast on Yahoo!, I wasn’t very familiar with it. But, I’ve been watching a couple of concerts on it. It’s such a cool thing. I’m psyched. The staff is stoked. We’re ready to rock and roll tonight,” Schmitt said.

The broadcast is free.
To see it in person, tickets can be purchased online.
