Surveillance testing identifies six coronavirus Cases at Fairmont State University

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Six coronavirus cases were identified in the latest round of surveillance testing on the campus of Fairmont State University.

Between Monday, February 22 and Wednesday, February 24, 10 percent of the on-campus student population were randomly tested using a self-administered, saliva-based test.

As of Friday, February 26, the University has administered 523 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and 287 are fully vaccinated. All with the first dose have been scheduled for the second dose.

TheĀ  University COVID task force continues to work with the Marion County Health Department to complete investigations, contact tracing and consultation.
