Taylor County murder suspect now accused of arson attempt at victim’s home

GRAFTON, W.Va. – The Farmington man accused in the murder of Tyler Poston has now been charged with an attempt the victim’s home on fire about five months before the shooting.

Joshua Price, 30, is accused of burning a cut up tire with paper under the front porch of Poston’s home January 12, 2021. In a criminal complaint, investigators say cell phone data places Price near the fire scene and cited a custody battle as a possible motive.

On June 26, 2021, Poston was found shot six times in a pullout along U.S. 119 near the Taylor/Monongalia County line. Detectives were able to match shell casing from the scene to casings found in a truck Price owned and his home.

Joshua Price faces first degree murder and now first degree arson charges. Price is expected to be indicted in early 2022.
