GARRETT COUNTY, MD– Emergency crews are on the scene of a train derailment in Garrett County. Crews were called to the scene at about 4:30 this morning two miles northeast of Swanton near Spring Lick Road First arriving units found a total of 11 cars derailed from the tracks.

All cars were empty with the exception of 1 car which was hauling 126 ton of heating fuel. The car hauling the fuel is derailed from the tracks however it is NOT overturned and is not leaking any product at this time.

No residents have been evacuated as there are no residences in the immediate area. Fire Department personnel are currently on the scene along with CSX officials who are investigating the cause of the derailment.

No Injuries have been reported
