WVU Homecoming Parade Traffic Alert

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown Police Department has released it’s altered traffic pattern for Friday’s West Virginia University Homecoming Parade.

Parking will be restricted beginning at 5:30 p.m. on High Street, Prospect Street, and North High Street.

Traffic in the downtown area will be restricted during the parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Traffic will be detoured from Willey Street onto Prospect Street then up Price Street to Fife Street and down North High Street, turning right onto Maiden Lane to College Avenue, then back onto University Avenue.

Officers will be at the intersections to assist with traffic. Motorists wishing to avoid the detour may travel on College Avenue from Willey Street to University Avenue.

Traffic patterns will be returned to normal as soon as possible upon the parade’s conclusion. Spectators are encouraged to arrive downtown early to allow time for parking.
