2 men remain hospitalized after fireworks injury in Monongalia County

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The injuries two men sustained in a fireworks accident in Mon County are not believed to be life threatening. State Police said Lucas Davis of Morgantown and Donnie Kuykendall from Lake Lynn, Pa. were flown to Ruby Memorial Saturday night when a mortar firework exploded at a home on Goodwin Hill Road.

Monday afternoon, Davis was listed in fair condition. Kuykendall was in serious condition.

There is no word on potential charges.

But, WAJR learned that WV state code lists the type of fireworks reportedly used as illegal.

Having those types of fireworks could lead to fines up to $100 and up to 90 days in jail.
