GRANVILLE, W.Va. A shoplifting investigation in Granville ended with the arrest of two Pennsylvania residents on multiple charges.

Members of the Granville Police Department were dispatched to the Walmart on University Town Center Drive on December 30 on a shoplifting report.

Store employees told the police Kenneth Courie, 39, of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, and Christopher Davis, 38, of Masontown, Pennsylvania, were observed concealing merchandise and destroying packaging.

Police located the men and confirmed they were in possession of concealed merchandise. Because neither suspect had a driver’s license, police escorted the pair to their vehicle so they wouldn’t drive away.

Once at the vehicle, a probable cause search was initiated when officers observed numerous drug-related items in the car.

Police did locate 6.3 grams of fentanyl, 7.9 grams of marijuana, $313 in cash, and a set of digital scales during the probable cause search.

Courie and Davis have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and are being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
