Morgantown man faces drug charges after parking lot mishap

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A single-vehicle crash at the Suncrest Town Centre yielded one drug arrest and no injuries.

Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department said Gary Shugars, 40, of Morgantown, hit a light pole in the parking lot Tuesday.

During the investigation deputies said they observed a glass smoking device in plain view and performed a probable cause search.

During the search, deputies discovered numerous glass smoking devices, 32 grams of suspected methamphetamine, two Suboxone strips, scales, and two pistols.

Shugars has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
