MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Employees of Monongalia Emergency Services have filed a petition to unionize with the National Labor Relations board.

The petition was filed Wednesday with the Region 6 office in Pittsburgh under the umbrella of the International Association of EMT’s and Paramedics (IAEP), National Association of Government Employees (NAGE). Listed to be organized are all full-time, part-time, per-diem and casual EMTs, paramedics and dispatchers. The petition specifically excludes clerical and office personnel, supervisors, and guards.

Executive Director of Mon EMS, Forest Weyen was unable to comment but provided the following statement:
“Mon EMS received a petition seeking union representation which was filed earlier this week with the NLRB. We are committed to following the Board’s process in this matter.”
