One charged in Bartlett House stabbing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest following a stabbing at the Bartlett House Annex on Thursday.

Deputies reviewed video surveillance that reportedly showed David Deal, 57, back another client into a corner and stab Hum with a large blade. The victim attempted to protect himself with a trash can but still suffered a severe leg wound that required surgery.

Deal told deputies he knew the victim but had to recall the incident.

Deal has been charged with malicious assault and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
