MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Highways plans to close a lane of I-79 northbound in Monongalia County for 12 days next week.

The closure from Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 11 between mile marker 159 to 161 will be daytime during work operations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while geotechnical crews drill on both ends of the Wade Run bridge for soil samples.

Major delays are expected.

Poor weather or unknown conditions could extend the work schedule.
