MORGANTOWN, W.Va. The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) has awarded the contract for widening West Run Road to Anderson Excavating, LLC, of Morgantown for a price of $14,475,154.74. The project is expected to ease congestion and improve safety and is funded through the $2.8 billion Roads to Prosperity program.

The project scope is to widen an 0.85-mile section of West Run Road between Stewartstown Road and US 119 near Morgantown.

West Run Road has experienced major growth in recent years and has become a popular short cut for commuters in the Morgantown area.

The project includes new drainage systems, relocating water lines, and several retaining walls.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
