Fairmont State University aircraft involved in minor runway incident

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. The aircraft that slid off a runway at the North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB) Monday was operated by Fairmont State University.

Airport officials said there was a “general aviation aircraft incident” around 3:10 Monday afternoon for the small twin-engine aircraft.

Fairmont State University officials called the incident minor and said no students were involved, and no injuries were reported.

The runway was closed for a brief period of time during the clean-up and investigation.

Fairmont State University operates aviation training programs through CKB.
