MORGANTOWN, W.Va. First responders in Morgantown spent Tuesday cleaning up after saturated ground conditions resulted in several downed trees and power lines.
At the peak around noon Tuesday, First Energy reported that about 2,800 customers in the Morgantonw area were out of electricity. By 8 p.m. Tuesday, crews had all but 47 customers restored.
As of 8 p.m., MECCA 911 reported South Pierpont Road closed between Dug Hill and Fields Park Roads due to a large tree down. Officials said they were waiting for the DOH in that case.
Also, as of 8 p.m., the area of Tyrone Road and Miramichi Trail is down to one lane due to a downed tree, and flood waters are reportedly over the intersection of Tyrone Road and Sunrise Drive.
In Marion County, Route 19 is closed between William Smith Road and the Paw Paw Fairgrounds.
