FAIRMONT, W.Va. –  Fairmont officials have closed most of the East Grafton Road Extension and Connecticut Avenue near Dairy Creme Corner after the discovery of a void under the road Friday that presents a public hazard.

The closure of the East Grafton Road Extension is from the intersection of Morgantown Avenue to the BP Gas Station. Connecticut Avenue is also closed to through traffic.

Although there are no immediate plans for construction, city officials said they are working toward a solution.

Access to businesses in the area remains open.
