Guilty verdict reached Mon County sexual abuse, defendant could get up to 45 years in prison

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va.  Following a two-day trial in Monongalia County Circuit Court, a jury has found Steven Ray Desantis guilty of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian, or person in a position of trust and first-degree sexual abuse.

Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney Gabrielle “Gabe” Mucciola said Desantis faces up to 45 years in prison at sentencing.

The case was investigated by the Morgantown City Police Department with assistance from police in Granville.

A sentencing hearing has not been set.

Desantis is being held in the North Central Regional Jail until sentencing.
