STONEWOOD, W.Va. – A Clarksburg woman is facing charges after police allege she was driving under the influence with a small child on Thursday.
Officers from the Stonewood Police Department stopped Courtney Hardy, 28, on Woodland Avenue because she was traveling 10 miles an hour over the posted speed limit.
When officers approached the vehicle, they observed a marijuana blunt in open view and a child in a very loose-fitting car seat.
A search of the car yielded prescription pills, 28 grams of marijuana, suboxone, and cash.
Hardy failed a series of field sobriety tests at the scene, and Child Protective Services were called to take the child from the scene.
Hardy has been charged with child abuse and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
