MONONGAH, W.Va. Deputies in Marion County have made one arrest in connection with a vandalism and shots fired investigation in Monongah.
On Monday, deputies were called to investigate a report of shots fired into a home on Pike Street.
While responding, deputies observed a car matching the description of the suspected shooter, later identified as Cheyenne Shirkey, 29, of Monongah, and conducted a traffic stop.
During a search of Shirkey, deputies recovered a loaded handgun.
At the victim’s residence, deputies found two bullet holes in her vehicle and found green paint and eggs had also been thrown on the car.
The investigation revealed Shirkey was involved in an incident earlier in the day, was allegedly under the influence of controlled substances, and threatened to kill the victim in front of her children.
Shirkey has been charged with wanton endangerment and destruction of property and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
