WEST UNION, W.Va. The superintendent of Doddridge County Schools, Dr. Adam Cheeseman, has announced his resignation and plans to join Rank One Computing as the director of school and community safety.
Rank One Computing supplies facial, object, and text recognition software to the U.S. military, law enforcement, commercial organizations, and schools, with an office on the West Virginia University campus in Morgantown at Vantage Ventures.
Cheeseman came to Doddridge County Schools as superintendent in 2016 and was named West Virginia’s Superintendent of the Year in 2023. During his tenure in Doddridge County, he expanded mental health programs, expanded science curricula, and became the first district in the country to become STEM certified by the School Superintendents Association.
Cheeseman and his family will remain in the Doddridge County area, and his wife, Lisa, will continue as the head coach of the girls basketball team at Doddridge High School.
Cheeseman will begin his new assignment at the end of the academic year.
