CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The state Department of Highways (DOH) worker hit in Harrison County and critically injured last month by a suspected intoxicated driver is now recovering at a rehabilitation facility.
Around 9:45 p.m. on March 14, the worker was setting up a traffic control device on U.S. Route 50 when he was hit critically. The worker was wearing fully reflective gear and a hard hat and was working in an illuminated area at the time of the crash.
The victim suffered critical head and shoulder injuries.
The driver of the car, Kiley Wagner, of Bridgeport, was charged with DUI causing serious bodily injury and has pleaded not guilty.
Wagner has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
The accident is being investigated by the Clarksburg Police Department.
