MANNINGTON, W.Va. — A Mannington woman is facing charges after police allege she reported her child missing while she was under the influence of drugs.

Cheyenne Carr, 29, allegedly told operators she had woken up approximately 20 minutes ago and could not find her child and had no idea where could be, but that the child could be with an unidentified male.

While enroute police learned the child was with the unidentified male.

On the scene police spoke to the unidentified male and Carr who police said seemed to be “off.”

Carr told deputies she had been told the unnamed male was at her house and that’s how she determined where the child was. Deputies said Carr had droopy eyelids, adry mouth and fell asleep severaltimes during the ride to the police station.

While being questioned, Carr admitted to using Xanax.

Carr has been charged with child neglect creating risk of injury and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
