KINGWOOD, W.Va. — Commissioners in Preston County have named James Fields the interim sheriff following the sudden passing of Preston County Sheriff Paul Pritt Monday.
Fields has served as Preston County Sheriff in the past and was once hired by Pritt.
No other information has been released.
Efforts to reach Fields have been unsuccessful.
Pritt died Monday following a hospital stay for an infection. No funeral arrangements have been announced.
