MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Police in Morgantown have arrested a 20-year-old subject after allegedly throwing nearly 100 grams of marijuana out of a car during a traffic stop in downtown.
On Tuesday, police observed a vehicle with an expired registration on Spruce Street near the intersection of Willey Street. Police attempted to stop the vehicle near the Mountainlair, but the vehicle continued onto College Avenue.
From the intersection of Spruce and Willey Streets to the Mountainlair and on College Avenue, the occupants of the vehicle refused to stop.
On College Avenue, police said a passenger door opened and a large plastic bag with a green leafy substance was thrown out of the car.
Police were able to make the stop on Beechurst Avenue and identified the passenger who threw the substance out as Alexander Camacho.
Police also located the bag Camacho threw out of the car and said it weighed 93.1 grams of marijuana labeled “Blueberry Muffin.”.
Camacho has been charged with possession with intent to deliver and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
