FAIRMONT, W.Va. The West Virginia Medical Examiner is working to identify remains found in the Monongahela River by a fisherman Friday afternoon.
Officials reported the body was so badly decomposed they were not able to confirm a gender or age.
The Fairmont Fire Department, Marion County Rescue Squad and Fairmont Police Department responded to the scene around 4:36 p.m. Friday.
