ELKINS, W.Va. An Elkins man is facing multiple charges following a dispute over drugs at a home in Randolph County Tuesday.

Deputies from the sheriff’s department responded to a home on Gun Dog Road on a report of a physical altercation.

While responding to the scene, deputies were informed that the suspect, Nathan Yokum, 34, was pointing a shotgun at the victim and threatening to shoot.

When the victim fled the residence, Yokam followed her with the shotgun. The victim then called 911 because she believed Yokam would hide if he knew police were coming.

The victim told police the altercation began when Yokam accused her of taking drugs. When she threatened to leave the residence, Yokam grabbed the shotgun, chambered a round, and pointed it at her.

Yokum has been charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm and is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
