CLARKSBURG, W.Va. –– A Clarksburg resident has been sentenced to nearly 30-years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl. Four others have also been sentenced for their roles in the crimes.

A jury convicted William Glover in March 2024 of seven counts of drug trafficking and one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises. The verdict was reached after testimony that said Glover used his Clarksburg home to work with others to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. During a search of the home agents recovered fentanyl, various pills, cocaine, methamphetamine, a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

Glover has a previous conviction for murder in Upshur County in 1984 and was on parole when he committed the federal offenses.

Officials said Glover has a long history of criminal convictions dating back to the age of 21, including convictions for grand larceny, drug possession, wanton endangerment, and criminal trespass.

Four other Clarksburg resident pleaded guilty and were sentenced for helping Glover distribute the drugs. Stacy Elaine Russell, 50, was sentenced to nine months; Robert Anthony Brockington, 41, was sentenced to six months; and Jerri Rena Lucente, 35, was sentenced to 46 months.
