FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Fairmont Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in a stabbing at a Fairmont bowling alley.

Fairmont police officers responded to the call reported at 1 Kirkway Drive at around 10:45 p.m. where responding officers found one male, 29, with a single stab wound to the right of his chest. After witness statements were taken, police later identified Richard Allen Moore II, 39 for the alleged incident.

According to a press release, Moore allegedly walked into the bowling alley and started a verbal argument with the victim. The argument was taken outside where a fight ensued and the victim was stabbed in the process. Moore later allegedly fled on foot before he was identified through witness statements. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the search but Moore could not be located. The victim was later transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Moore has been charged with malicious wounding with an active warrant for his arrest. The Fairmont Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
