MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — One person was killed in a side-by-side accident in Monongalia County this weekend.
Deputies with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched at 8:11 p.m. Saturday to River Road near the area of the dam for a single vehicle accident.
Deputies arrived to find a Polaris 1000 that had rolled on top of the driver.
The driver was the only occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened on the railroad tracks near Edna Gas Road. Rail service was suspended until the crash was cleaned up.
There were no witnesses to the accident.
West Virginia State Police assisted, Mon EMS and the River Road Volunteer Fire Department responded.
