ARTHURDALE, W.Va. — A Masontown resident is facing multiple charges after an Arthurdale woman told police he put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

On July 20 just before midnight, James Albright, 47, grabbed the woman and held a knife to her throat and attempted to drag her away near front door of her home. The victim and a witness told state police Albright pressed a five inch knife against her throat and threatened to kill her if she made any noise.

The victim was able to escape by biting Albright on the arm that was holding the knife. Also, as the witness began walking toward him, he said,” fine, I’m leaving”, then walked away.”

Witnesses and neighbors were able identify Albright whos face was also captured on video surveillance. Albright was positively identified by the victim and the witness who called police.

Troopers found Albright and arrested him August 3 for kidnapping. He is being held without bail in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
