FAIRMONT, W.Va. — After three days of testimony, a jury in Marion County has found Naquan Warren guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, burglary, assault during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.
Warren was accused of conspiring with Shekea Fox, 33, of Fairmont, to steal drugs and money from Sean Gardiner, of Detroit, Michigan, in October 2022. The two conspired to rob Gardiner as he slept, but he was brutally beaten in what detectives in Fairmont said was one of the most violent crime scenes they had ever seen.
The jury of eight women and four men took about 90 minutes to reach guilty verdicts on all charges.
Next, the jury will be asked to rule in the mercy phase of the trial to determine if Warren will be eligible for parole.
