MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The suspect in the July 11 shooting of Rashad Alton on Mountain Valley Drive in Monongalia has waived his preliminary hearing.
Arnold Johnson, III, 19, of Montgomery Village, Md., is being held in the North Central Regional charged with first-degree murder.
It’s believed Johnson fled to the Washington, D.C. area following the shooting, but returned and truned himself in to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department August 7.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation.
