CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A traffic violation in Clarksburg led police to a large quantity of dangerous drugs over the weekend.
Deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department stopped a car driven by Jennifer Garland, 33, for traveling in the wrong direction on a one-way street in the area of West Main Street and 6th Street Sunday.
Deputies also made contact with passenger, Marcus Garland, 52, and located controlled substances.
When deputies searched the vehicle they found 135 grams of fentanyl, 73 grams of cocaine, 42 grams of heroin, $852 in cash, cutting agents, and packaging materials.
Deputies also located a backpack that belonged to Marcus that contained a 9mm handgun. Marcus Garland is prohibited from possessing a weapon following his 2016 conviction for bank robbery in Pennsylvania.
Both have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and are being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
