MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Detectives in Morgantown have made an arrest in the burglary of a school annex and the power plant on Beechurst Avenue.
Police have arrested and charged Dustin Vernon Gomes, of Morgantown, with two counts of breaking and entering and one count of grand larceny.
August 31, 2024, police believe Gomes broke into the annex building at Suncrest Middle School and took several items. The second incident happened September 9, 2024, at an administrative building of the Morgantown Energy Associates (MEA) Power Plant where additional articles were stolen including a Jeep Rubicon that was stolen from the parking lot.
