MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — The state Department of Highways (DOH) plans to close U.S. 119 for core drilling Tuesday through Friday.
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 119 will be closed at milepost 11.90 and at the intersection of US/County Route 73 (Smithtown Road) from Tuesday, September 24, 2024, through Friday, September 27, 2024, for crews to conduct core drilling.
“There are multiple core drilling sites on the project. While there may be delays, there are no lane closures anticipated,” DOH District 4 Director Earl Gaskins said.
The DOH alternate routes are County Route 857 from US 119 to WV 7 East, and WV 7 West to Interstate 68 West to Exit 1, US 119.
