MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVRC Media and Titan Roofing have launched a supply collection event this week to benefit the hurricane Helene ravaged areas of North Carolina.

On Thursday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the truck will be parked at the Suncrest Towne Center across from Five Guys, collecting supplies geared toward clean up and immediate needs.

Sites in North Carolina are focused on the initial clean up and not prepared to accept clothing or building materials at this time.

The list of suggested items includes:

Trash bags
Batteries
Flashlights
Protein bars
Sports drink powders
Infant formula
Shovels and brooms or other hand tools
Gloves
Bug spray and sunscreen
Plastic sheeting or tarps
Sanitizing wipes
Bottled water
Canned goods
Personal hygiene items
Pet food
Cleaning supplies, including bleach
First aid supplies
Coolers
Baby wipes
Plastic eating utensils
Toiletries and sanitation items

Volunteers will be with the truck to help residents unload donated items.

The items will be transported to the Asheville, North Carolina, area this weekend.
