MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –– On the West Virginia University Morgantown campus University Police have issued a Community Notice after an uptick in thefts from vehicles has been reported.

Since Oct. 19, four vehicle larceny investigations were opened following reports from parking locations at the Mountainlair, WVU College oif Law, and Fife Avenue.

Wednesday, University Police officers arrested Cristine Flesher, 40,of Morgantown, who is not a student or employee of the institution. Flesher has been charged with vehicle larceny.

“Surveillance video was key to making the arrest quickly,” Chief Sherry St. Clair said. “This case and the others serve as reminders that we must all be vigilant and take steps to prevent crimes of opportunity.”

These reports are in addition to incidents previously reported in a September 11 Community Notice.
