MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Morgantown man is facing charges after state police allege he solicited a 15-year old for sex.
The investigation began in October when troopers learned Jose Menjivar, 43, had been exchanging messages with a 15-year old from White Hall.
Through the messages Menjivar told the female he worked in downtown Morgantown and when he learned she was 15-years old he continued to message her and also asked to meet her. When she told Menjivar she had school has asked her to have a friend bring her to Morgantown sothey could have sex.
Menjivar was identified by troopers as a suspect by using phone records. During an interview he admitted to messaging the 15-year old victim.
Menjivar has been charged solicitation of a minor and is being held on a $50,000 bond in the North Central Regional Jail.
