BUCKHANNON, W. Va. — The Buckhannon Police Department arrested a suspected drunk driver in a crash that killed one person over the weekend.
Police arrived at the scene in Liggett Addition off Route 33 and learned from a witness that Joshua Foster, 33, of West Milford, crashed into another vehicle around 3 a.m. and fled on foot behind a nearby Pizza Hut.
Moments later, Foster walked from behind the Pizza Hut toward police and admitted he was driving the vehicle.
While speaking with police Foster told police he had been drinking and took a drive to “clear his head.” Foster then began to stumble and was helped into an ambulance on the scene.
Foster was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was reported to have a BAC of 0.242.
Foster has been charged DUI with death and is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $500,000 bond.
The driver killed in the crash has not been identified.
