PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. — I-68 eastbound in the Hazelton area was closed for more than four hours during the Thursday morning commute.

“There was a tractor-trailer that couldn’t climb the hill from Hazelton to the Maryland state line, went sideways, and caught everybody up behind it,” Deputy J.G. Rodeheaver said.

Deputy Rodeheaver said there were no injuries reported in the relatively slow-speed crash that involved several vehicles stuck.

By about 8:30 a.m., one lane was opened that was primarily used by tow trucks to remove or help others resume travel.

Both lanes of the interstate reopened at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
