CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Bridgeport pursuit reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour ended with a car through a Clarksburg home and one person behind bars.

Bridgeport police observed Daylin Antonio Smith driving 93 in a 70 mile per hour zone on southbound I-79 on Jan. 5 around 2:28 a.m. When police attempted to stop Smith, he fled to the U.S. 50 exit at speeds of 120 miles per hour.

Smith turned on U.S. 50 and turned the headlights off in an attempt to elude police. Smith continued on U.S. 50, turning onto Pike Street and reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour before turning on Kelly Street and crashing completely through an unoccupied house.

Smith attempted to flee the scene after the crash but left his identification in the car. Additionally, Smith was identified by two passengers in the vehicle.

Smith has been charged with fleeing with reckless indifference.
