BELINGTON, W.Va. — A 29-yearold Belington man is behind bars after a suspected meth lab caught fire in Barbour County.

Thursday, deputies from the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shed fire along Barbour County Highway just outside of Belington.

Upon arrival, deputies learned glass beakers and chemicals were involved in the blaze and detained the homeowner, Brenden Setchell.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the property and recovered materials and item consistant with the production of methamphetamine, three firearms, and two suppressors that were made with a 3-D printer.

In a bathroom, deputies found a container with meth residue insideand a “DEA list of chemicals” commonly associated with the meth production.

Setchell has been charged with operating a clandestine drug laboratory and is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
