MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Greer Industries has announced plans to open the Greer Asphalt plant on Feb. 4, 2025, to support ongoing road repair efforts.

The opening will help the state Division of Highways address damage caused by harsh winter conditions.

“We recognize the immediate need for quality asphalt to repair and improve our roads following this winter’s severe conditions,” John Bossio, Executive Vice President of Sales, Greer Industries, said. “By opening early, we are ensuring that the West Virginia Division of Highways and local paving contractors have access to the materials they need to get an early start on essential projects.”

The early availability of hot mix will enable local contractors to begin planning construction schedules for the 2025 work season.

Officials said the early opening is just one example of the Greer dedication to the statewide transportation and economic growth.
