MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Morgantown woman is behind bars after police allege she was using methamphetamine and hallucinating while taking care of a toddler.
Casey Wiles, 33, called 911 around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and reported that someone was trying to get into her home.
When troopers from the West Virginia State Police arrived Wiles began screaming for help and saying she was being held at gunpoint. Police then made forced entry and found Wiles alone with a 5 year old child.
Troopers said Wiles was acting erractically , having hallucinations, and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
When troopers attempted to take Wiles into custody she pulled away causing a container of suspected methamphetamine fell to the floor.
Wiles has been charged with child neglect with risk of injury, false reporting of an emergency, possession of a controlled substance, and interference with police.
Wiles is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
